Questionaut

This is an online video game from the BBC where you have to answer questions related to English, Science and Math. As you answer the questions correctly, a little “questionaut” in a balloon gets to continue on his journey.
Hope you enjoy it! Leave a comment saying how well you did!

If....

So that you are encouraged to speak in Engllish at all times, you will be given a card every time you speak in Spanish.

  • For every card you get at the end of the lesson, you will have to leave TWO extra comments in the blog of 10 lines long (each one) for the following day.

  • If you happen to get 10 cards in all by the end of the week, you will draw a paper out from a tin and you will have to prepare the activity on the paper for the following Monday, (such as writing and reciting a poem, preparing an oral presentation on a fantasy story, thinking and writing 10 suggestions for posts for the blog, writing a summary on a fantasy story, writing a reflection, and so on)

What do you think??

I'm launching it on Thursday 12th.

Expanding sentences

A way of writing good and interesting stories is by writing detailed and showing sentences. This site shows you how a simple sentence turns into a detailed showing paragraph.

Click on the site and you will see the sentence with shaded words.

Click on the shaded part and see how the sentence expands.

Keep clicking and reading until there are no more shaded words. Did you read these instructions carefully?

Start thinking....

If you look at these images below, which one will you choose?
What type of sentences are they?
If you were asked to expand
them, think of the fantasy stories that we read (The Catnterville Ghost, Dear Little Ghost, Who goes down this dark Road, The Ghost Story (6A)). Who would you choose as a character, as the setting, as a fantasy element to include in your showing paragraph?

He/ she was scared.

Sitting on the sofa, she looked exhausted.

Paraphernalia- A short animation

Watch this short animation made by Sabrina Cotugno which I found in Tom Barret's blog (an English educator). What do you think? Is it a fantasy animation? If so, which are the fantasy elements for you? Did you like it? Why?

Fabulous comments!!

Two comments which are worthwhile sharing with you!

Dear Students:

Congratulations to all of you! It is a very difficult task to choose the main characters, especially because you are all so talented. I really loved seeing you giving your best in the try-outs. However, you must not forget that main characters are only a part of the concert. I am looking forward to work with all Y6 in yout scenes and songs.
See you on Wednesday.
Mr. Oscar

Dear Students,
I was smiling as I read your comments. We could see some nervous faces as you tried out, but I have to say you were all fantastic. It has been very difficult for Mr Oscar and me to choose from such a talented and brave group of students. Unluckily there are just a few main characters, but I have to congratulate you ALL on your courage!

See you at school,
Miss Anne
