Sleep must be important because we spend 1/3 of our lives doing it! Loss of sleep hurts attention, working memory, mood, quantitative skills, logical reasoning, and even motor dexterity. But is sleep really doing nothing? It looks like it...our eyes are closed, our muscles are relaxed, our breathing is regular, and we do not respond to sound or light. If you take a look at what is happening inside of your brain, however, you will find quite a different situation - the brain is very active. You are doing something!
It’s possible that the reason we need to sleep is so that we can learn better. Everything we have learnt is cemented while sleeping.
Therefore, now that your are having your final exams, it is very important for you to SLEEP WELL!
