The Canterville Ghost

These are two sites where you will find different versions on "The Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde.

Simplified version: It's much simpler than the one we read in class. Hope you enjoy them if you want to re read the story.

By the way, what do you think of this classic written by Oscar Wilde?

Have a nice weekend!!

Miss Ale,
I realy enjoyed listening to the story. I understood it very well and I am going to try to read the old copy and see if I can understand it. I will tell you in school on monday if I undersstand it. I realy liked the part when the Otiz family would guess what color the blood stain mark would be the mext morning after Washington would clean it. I thought that it was funny!!! But poor Virgingia because the ghoast had stolen all of her paints so she could only paint moon seans that were very hard. I also felt bat for the ghost because the twins were so mean and made a lot of tricks on him. At the end I liked the ghost and how he was friends with Virginia. I think that when Virginia left and they couldn't find her, she went with the ghost to the death garden and then she left the Canterville Ghost there and returned home where her family found her. Again, I enjoyed it very much and I was eager to listen to the rest of it on Friday. See you on Monday!

Hi miss Ale:
I think tat it is a very good idea for the ones that didn't understand it, including me for some parts, but I realy enjoyed the story. There were parts VERY funny.
I loved the twins tricks, that parts were the most funny parts. In some parts it was confusing, so I started to take notes. I cannot say many things about the story because the only thing I can say is that I loved it. Keep on reading this type of books. I would love that the author of the book can come to tell us the story. And I would like that there could be a continuation of the story so that I could read it. Thank you miss Ale for telling us that story. I loved it, I think that it is one of the best stories that I listen. I think that I would look for more stories from Oscar Wilde. I think that if I look for the simplified version it would be more easy to understand, and if I still don't understand it, I am going to put the parts that I don't understand in the translator so that I could read in spanish the parts that I don't understand.

Hi Miss Ale, I liked how this author wrote this story. The way he used those words which made the story more interesting. I enjoyed listening to the Cantervilles Ghost a lot. I could understand it very well. I liked it very much so I am going to try to read the original version. I especially liked the part when Virginia tells the ghost she new that he would steel the paintings from her room to do the different colors of blood stains. I thought it was very funny when she said that she could only paint moon seans which were very hard for her. Like Roxie said, I also felt bad for the ghost when the twins did tricks on him; like when they dressed up as a ghost to scare him. Mr Otis was very funny because every time the ghost tried to scare him, he would give him oils for his chains or medicine when the ghost got hurt. In the story when the ghost takes her away through the black whole, I think they went to the death garden so the ghost could show Virginia the place were he wanted to be. I hope there will be more stories as intriguing as this one because this story was excellent and when the classes ended and the story didnt finish I felt bad.
See you on Monday!!

Hi Miss Ale!!!
I loved the story!!!!!! As you may have seen I commented in the other posts, I like very much mystery and ghost stories, but this one really hooked me, it was very interesting! It's true, the simplified version is easier than the one you read us in class!
At one point of the story I felt pitty of the poor Sir Simon Canterville ghost, at the begginning I thought the ghost would be bad and cruel, but Sir Simon was a good ghost, Virginia was also really kind to him and everybody and she was really intelligent, because she was the only one who realized the ghost was using her paintings to keep the blood stain on the floor! But the twins were very naughty! Poor ghost, all the things the twins made him!! Luckily although all that the Canterville ghost ends happy, as well as everybody!
See you tommorrow!!

Hi miss Ale
I enjoyed the story of the Canterville ghost.
I liked the part when the twin brothers throw pillows at the ghost. The Otiz family didn't seem so scared of the ghost. And the blood stain changing color was preety funny. Anyway the two versions of the story have a diffrence.
Thank You Miss Ale and have a happy easter holiday!!
