Telling vs Showing

We have been working on turning telling sentences into showing sentences.

Remember:

Word Choice can make a difference in your writing. Showing is more powerful than telling. Words that speak to the senses build images. Words that describe sounds, smells, and tastes evoke memories. Flat, dull, boring, or vivid, resonant, and lucid-- how will it be? Where will we find those few well-chosen words to dazzle the mind's eye?

Now I challenge you to turn these telling sentences into a good showing one. You can do the work on your wiki page, on Etherpad sending the code for me to read it, by mail or a a lined sheet of paper.

Then leave a comment telling me that you have done it.

Just click on the link below, follow instructions, have fun and get housepoints!

Hello Miss Ale
I like better telling than showing because when I write showing I want the author to know the message not having to interpretate it. But with practice my message will be more evident. Showing makes a story longer and more descriptive, like the city of Ember. My conclution on the descriptive books is that showing makes them longer.

WOW!!!! You can do it on a lined sheet of paper, on Etherpad or in a word document and send it by mail or by mail right away as it doesn't need to be long.
