Hello Miss Alle
I loved the poem. I think that when that boy was writing this poem he felt sad about something. I think that he was sad because in some way or in some place he felt discriminated. In the first part it says that no matter what he does or tries to do he will always be black and nothing or nobody can do nothing about it. He says that white people can be of many colors dpending on the place they are. He really wants to be like everybody else and have the same rights. People offently all around the world say that black people are bad and that they cant have the same rights as black people. For other people think that everybody have to have the same rights and that is the correct thing. If i were of a different color i would feel very bad if people would start dicriminating me for what i am or not including me in things that everyone one else is included in. That would be very sad. In this poem the boy from Africa is trying to express his fellings as a black boy. He feels sad because maybe he cant have the same rights as other people. Im sure that every day he tries to fight for the black people so they all have the same rights as the white people as well as some people are trying to do for them. I think that it is silly to separate the people that are of a different color because if you think properly we are all in some way or another different. I dont know why we have to be apart from people that we know or care about because we are of a different coloured skin or we like different things. I think that it is a problem that has to come to and ending because many people in other places are suffering a lot because of all this. I think that the boy wrote this poem for all the people to reflect on something they did in the past or know that wasnt right. I hope that that boy can have a better future because most of the world wants to stop all this and for me in the future there will be a solution or maybe not because there will always be a conflict if we dont start changing now! The poem was great. That kid in Africa is a great poet and can really express his feelings the right way. I really liked this post. I hope that something in the world is done to what this kid has written. Thank you for posting this. See you tomorrow

Miss Ale,
I had read this poem a long time ago in google, but it didn´t say that it was from a student from Africa waw! Well, I think this poem is very touching and significant, because the child that wrote it was very but very brave, maybe he did it because he was just so sad and mad about discrimination. Spetially in Africa that many people are black and they all discriminate them. I think that is very wrong because you can´t just not accept a person because it has a different colour of skin, or like in other places because religion. I think these people are doing it and don´t realize the damage they are doing to this people and they are doing what they don´t want other people to make it to them. I think the people is right because they all tell people with black skin are coloured and what says in the poem is true people with black skin have always the same colour of skin but white people always change the colour of their skin. And white people tell them coloured, and actually they are, that is a very peaceful way of showing this people that is not nice discriminte others. Again I say it, this student was very brave, he must feel very proud of yourself. When I finished reading it I felt that it is very important for people to see this poem, and it would be great because we will all stop discriminating others and they will feel how people feel when you discriminate them and left them behind(or out of the group). I loved the poem, he must have felt very discriminated at school or in other place, or maybe he had seen a lot of acts of discrimination and in a very clever way he is trying to stop it, it is great that not only people from his school or of Africa know this poem, but it is great for all the world and generations to know it see we all can reflect on it. I like that he really clever that he tought about this on white people, because it is true, the skin change colour when we are in diferent places or ocations and black people are always black or "coloured" as they tell them which I really think is very bad, they should feel very bad about it. I hate that people discriminate each other becuase we all live in the same world and have the same rights, so we all must respect each other and respect all the opinions, or religions or in some cases like this one the colour of the skin.

See you, thanks for putting this post, it is really helpful.

Dear Miss Ale: WOW!!!!!
I CAN´T BELIVE MY EYES!!!!!
I would never think that a boy no matter how far he is form where we are, no matter if som ebody over in Africa can write SO well, the poem is now stuck in my heart and in my mind and I don´t think it would be easy to take it out, it is too meaningfull and it touches SO much your heart, that I think that nobody will take it out of his/her mind so easily. I thin that what the boy was trying to say was that in his mind and in his hear, the feeling of descrimination, is so fresh that got to even harm him very badley. His first lines talk about the way he was yeasterday, the way he is now, and the way he will be tomorow till the end. He really takes in mind all the comments that were maybe dedicated to the people with black skin, and as he is also black he was really sad when hearing this harmfull word. I think that the boy meant to tell all the people to stop right now the way they are behaving and to realize how hey are acting, becasue I do think that it WLL be horible for somebody to tell you and to laugh in your face just because you are "pink"(as the boy said) or wite" skin and that is exacley what many people in Africa, not only children, are suffering. Then he says that we are like a "rainbow" because of the different aomut of colors of skin the we can have, like for example, if you are very cold, like in the cartoons, you get blue of all the cold you have, or maybe turn red when you go to the sun, maybe you can get(all of them in the cartoons) when you get old you tern white, when we born we are pink, or maybe when you get scared you get yellow and maybe if you are sick you get green and afterwards when we die we turn grey, but he says that he is all his life time black, and that he never changes of color, and that is somthing that really shoked me very much becase when you got to the end you read a question the writer asks you: "And you´r telling me colored???" that is something that make me go blue, his last questing really frozen me. I do appreciate the different colors that exist in the worls, becasue if not we will all be just the same, the same way and all of us will be just exacley the same in just everything, and that will be really boring, so the different kinds of culture, color ofv sin, the way people look, and the way all of us act, really make a difference on all of us. If you think about how we react when we see someone colored, you can tell that weare acting kind of silly, because in a way or other WE ARE ALL COLORED SKIN if not we should be pale white. If I ever get to know somebody like this boy or exactly this boy, I will be SO proud becasue I once learnd how their real feelings are and how we are afecting the way they think, react to our comments and other things that harm them really deeply, I think that we should all reflect if we once said something that could harm the feelings of another people just by saying the way they look or the color of his/her skin please: REFLECT ON IT and think how you will have felt if somebody will tell you those horrible things.
MISS ALE THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THIS SO MEANINGFUL AND INTERESTING POEM!!!!!!!
IF YOU FIND MORE OF THEM: PLEASE INCLUDE THEM, I REALLY APPRECIATE THEM VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!!
BYE BYE...
SEE YOU SOON...

Miss Ale...
The poem, WUAW, it was great, I just loved it. When I finished reading it I just could not stop laughing(because of how he finished the poem), but at the same time I knew that what he said was correct. I showed this poem to my sister and she also loved it, and reflected like I did, I am also going to try to show it to my mom and dad, I think they are really going to like it to. The black kid really is intelligent to write the poem, but at the same time see that when we grow and depending on our mood we change colour, while they always are the same colour no matter how they fell they are black, and that we call them black while we always change colour. I loved how he finished "And you call me coloured?". I also have a question: Why do we think black people are different... they also are humans...? We need to place our feet in their shoes and see how we would fell, if people think we are something, we are not. I think he should write more poems like this one, so that so many people read them and they realize that they are NOT aliens or something like that. I see that he does not want to change his colour but he wants the same rights that we have... and why not? If all the people that see this blog, see this poem and get the meaning of it, maybe we can make I change and help them. If the people of the blog make a change thanks to the poem their lives would be so much better. I related this poem with the video of the girl that made the world silence for five minutes, the part were the girl mentions the black boy in the street, if we gave him all that we have he would better than what we do with it.
See you tomorrow,

Hi there!
I LOVED THE POEM. I HAD NEVER THOUGHT OF WHAT THE BOY SAID. HE IS REALLY RIGHT. I think the boy was very sad and a little bit angry because people discriminate him by saying his coloured because he is black and white people are a lot more coloured because they change of colour all the time. This poem let me a message:
STOP RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We shouldn´t discriminate anybody because of their skin colour. Why are white people more important than black? Because of the colour of their skin? Who said it was better and superior to have a pink skin? I don´t think that is a good message for humanity. We should all be treated equaly. This boy says that he will always be black no matter what happens, but that white people change colour all the time and then they call black people coloured. EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME WRIGHTS. I had never thought of racism that way!!! How old is this kid? When I finished reading the poem I felt sad and guilty. Although I don´t discriminate black people some white people do and so they are the ones who represent us. If all people would be nice to all the people, no matter the colour of their skin, the world would be different. It would be full of peace and we would help one another. I really appreciate all the people who are trying to make a change or people who made a change. For example Eleanor Roosevelt made a change, but then with the pass of time people didn´t care about it anymore and they thought Eleanor Roosevelt didn´t know anything. This kid is very brave because he didn´t mind what people would think about his poem(I really liked the poem, but maybe some people didn´t like it at all) and he is filled with courage. He could really express himself in this poem and he maybe let out a big weight he carried around. I think that by writing this he felt more reliefed because he could tell the world what he thought in a few lines. I am really impressed. PLEASE POST MORE OF THIS POEMS AND REFLECTIONS. I REALLY LIKE THEM!!!
See you,

Miss Ale:
I hate this poem and I really felt very sad. I want to Be justice but I can't if I was somebody important in the world I would really save the black persons. THis is terrible Because he is totally write and we a re not doing nothing to the respect. I would like to solve this justice. I think this boy feel very sad and discriminated. Why does black people has to feel that way and not the white people??? This poems doesn't nly talks about the color of your face. If you understand this poem and you feel something about this you will notice that he is saying that we a re discriminated the black people and we just don't care about them and we hate them. You can see that the boy doesn't have a great vocabulary and this is because they don't have education as us. So really we are so lucky about this and we have to take advantage of this oppurtunity and we also have to help them!!

I have no words its a mixture of sadness and a whole in my tummy amn endless whole that can not be described there are so many lonely and discriminated because of their origin and colour of skin such a disatention to the people that soround us it should be a shame on us such suffering everywhere and we, white people just lookng downwards as if nothings is happening there are shildren that are punished just because of their colour skin that are taken out of schools, families fighting jus to be accepted just as everyone we all deserve to be well treated and why discrimination?? why??
People are the same as us they are born and have the same type of rights to fight for what they want and just live a common life as we do, its their desistion to do what they want not ours to tell them what to fo and discriminate just because of the colour of their skin.
This poem shows the ways of reactiong of all of us we are the same and why do we call the coloured?? Everyone has a different type of skin no matter its colour we all have the same rights to live and fight for what we think we must all be free and choose what we want, the wprst we can do is to discriminate. Each country has different laws and customs and we still live in the same world, when the world was created we were supposed to live as a family helping each other trying to coexist together and without distinguishing any one just because of their colour of skin especially the black people.
As well we just thing as we were joind by a chain we all support us giving resources of our country and Africa is one of those and without them maybie we woldnt have enouch resources or food, that we have now. We have to be contious of the discrimination that the world has we all deserve to be treated corectly, so lets make a change!

I think that wat he was trieng to say is that he know that he has a life all ready for him that maybe he doesant have the oportunity to go to school maybe he dont have much to eat maybe he knows very well that out there in USA and in many other countryes the black pirsons have been discriminating and even now a days there is discrimination in more or less amout I pesonaly dont know but wat I think is that they are not discriminating for beeng black they are been discriminating because the white pirsons looked the black as slaves and with not much education and with resorses.

Hello Miss Ale:
I loved the poem and I would like all the world to hear it because it is very interesting. Also because it has a lot to do with moral values and with discrimination. I also think that the one who wrote it was having problems with the coloured people and he had so much anger concentrated in his body that he decided to write this poem telling what he felt. I would liked to know this boy and helped him, but I didn't have the luck to do it. The poem for me is very true and it has a very exciting point of view because it is tought by the point of view of a colourd boy, I say it is exciting because we (the "white" people) generally make the poems in our point of view. This boy maybe that he was very tired of reading the poems that we wrote and he wanted to express him self writing a poem with his own point of view. I think that in the actual life we are sometimes discriminating somebody, it doesn't have to be a coloured person, and we are letting him appart and maybe we are hurting this person and he/she feels very hurt inside him and doesn't know how to say it or he doesn't want to say it. So I think that this is what this boy did, telling what he felt in that moment he was leaving in and the best way he found was with a poem
Bye bye

this is a very good poem that really touches your heart. I could say that what this boy says is absolutly true. we shouldn't descrimite people only because of their colour!! When he talks about us I think he is exagerating a little but the meaning of the poem still is absolutly right. We can't olny gudge people only of their outside, we should get to the people's heart before gudging him. I really think sometime there does something to help this poor boy and all africxan pooor people!!! His feelings of himself make you wonder if he really likes himself. Poor boy!!! I hope this generation can help this boy and all african people so that they can have a good future, a good life!! This reflection is a little short compared to the other ones I think!!!

That poem was amazing! I couldnt believe itwhen I read it... It was sad but funny too. The kid who wrote is completely right. When I finished reading the poem I stayed with my mouth wide open but also started laughing later. Maybye the colour are a bit too much but the message the poem gives you is that he is always black, we arent and we call THEM coloured people. I also felt a bit sad because I really do not like descrimination. I think everybody deservs the same rights.! It doesnt matter the skin colour. And also critizising... It doesnt matter (in a way) if you are fat or thin, blonde or brunette, curled hair or straight hair... I would really be proud if I were black. I really dont know why but I think it is becuase the majority of the world descriminates my skin colour and Im the same as everybody. I always think of that. The worst thing is that people who discriminate think they are superior or have power by hurting other people, and actually by descriminating you are the one who does bad to you. I wish I could just stop all the unfair things in hte world sometimes... I really liked the poem because of all the things I mentioned before. I hope everybody gets the message the poem gives and tries to change... The poem is excelent and the meaning too. I cant believe that there are soem people that descriminate black people. I mean, what have black people done to white people? And also a lot of equal rights "figters" like Martin Luther King fought for the justice between black & white. Once again, awsome poem and I wish everybody gets the message and understands it just as I did.

Oh!!!! What a nice poem, I can't believe it! It is so beautiful. Although it doesn't make US really happy (hehe) Becuase we ARE white we like it or not. But the poem really made me reflect. How can a kid I sure smaller than us becuase of the spelling, can write such a wonderful and touching poem. I never knew how those kids felt, and now I think I know, they don't like to be colled COLOURED! Poor kids. I hope lots of people read his poem and reflected on it and that the poem really touched their hearts! Cause it touched mine, although you can't really understand it well, it is like you do in some way understand it. Now I now that this little boy IS filling discriminated and that is not good at all. We should always respect the others feelings and now that I read this poem it is going to be very hard to take it out of my mind, cause now that I am writting more examples to write and more things go around in my head thinking of this little boy. I think being small in Africa, it is not common to go writting poems. I think this boy really needed to write this poem and he really wanted to express his feeling through out this note. I few days ago I recieved a message with photos of kids in Africa, I had never felt so selfish, but I don't know how to help people so far away and me being so small, with my family we DO donate clothes and food to poor people here in Argentina. But I don't know how to help people of AFRICA which is very far away. But I know that by just letting the otehr people know and the that person will say it to another one , we can make everyone make an effort and change the world. And that, is one of my goals, and I think it is everyone's goal. I would really like the school to make a campaign, and all the kids in school bring clothes and things they made need and we could send it to Africa. That would be a FANTASTIC thing to do, and I hope the school can.
Ok miss Ale
see you soon, have a wonderful weekend...

Miss Ale:
I was really impressed of the poem. It is very very interesting. I had never thought of coloured people in that way. I though that the end was a little bit funny ! I mean , and you call me coloured? I thought it was funny ! I think people do bad by separating people just by the colour of skin they are, thats just the outside !! On top of it, were all the same !! It sad that although he is sick or not, he is in the sun or not (etc.) he will allways be black. He means that he will never be abel to be like white people, allthough he wants to and tries to . Its also sad that people divide black and white. Thats very bad and very sad. Discrimination is a big problem in the world !! I think its perfectly well that people are trying to solve this problems of discrimination that in some places of the world are very important that they solve, and by saying this I mean that in some places of the world there are lot of discrimination. Thats very bad for those that have to suffer for this people that think these way. Well, to sum up, I loved the poem !! Thank you for puting it it was very impressing. I never thought that a little child could think this way. Keep on puting things like this ! I loved it !!!
See you soon !!

I could reflect this poem in many ways. Because its shows how discrimination is present today. This kid is called coloured but really the coloured people is us because our skin changes of color.

Hello miss ale: I think that this poem is very important and that contains many information in whick you can reflect and think a little it is very important because the adrican people is right, many people say that balck people are not humans or they are strange things so thats why we have to think a little because the african kid said that they are always the same colour in water, sun, whrn they are dead etc and that white people always change of colur and that they tell them colored that part made me undersatnd and think a little about what people say. It is very important to have that in mind becuase if not whit peĆ²ple will say anything they think and that is not correct. I just cant tolertae discrimination. Becuase a person is of another colour they dont have the reson to discriminate or make that people fill bad. I think that the african kid was very sad and he wanted to reveal his thoughts and make a cahnge in the other people thoughts he really felt something deap in his heart to make thar lovely poem which I loved ill just whant to know that kid!!!! I whish something is changed in other people thoughts. I liked a lot this reflection of the week.

Hello Miss Ale:
This boy ir very true in what he sais because as black people very very long ago were slaves, they were not treated in a good way so this is what happened!!! We say they are coloured just because their skin colour is different to ours while we change colours all the time!!! This is a very good example that we should all know because it shows all the sily things people can do because if we change colours all the time we are the colour ones!!!

Hello Miss Ale,
I think the poem is wounder full because it shows what we see, the other way oraunde, in an other point of vew. If it also the makes me remember what we learn´t when we were little "many people in srounding our we may think they are different realy we are all differrent from one and other. But we don´t have to treat them as animals. Because they the same as we are and we don´t have to do to others what we don´t or won´t like to made to use." It is like a reflection but invertied.
It took me some time to meditet this poem but I am glade to share mi opinion with you.

Bye see you tommorow

Miss Ale,
This poem was incredible!!! I can´t believe that a boy wrote it!!! He felt very discriminated and he wanted to show others that we are all the same. That is true because no matter the colour of skin we have we are all the same. I don´t understand why people discriminate and I think that it is wrong to do that. We should all have the same rights. That is what the boy tried to express. He felt very sad because other people discriminated him. First he said that he was always black, no matter what he did, since he was born until he died. Then he said that white people changed the colour of their skin, depending on where they were or how they felt
like. He didn´t like other people calling him coloured and discriminating him because of that because it is not nice. He has all the right to feel in that way. I think that we shouldn´t descriminate other people or don´t let them have the same rights as the rest, because no matter the coulor of our skin or our diferences, we are all the same and we all deserve to have the same rights. So if we don´t descriminate we will make a better world for everyone because people won´t feel bad about how the are.
Thank you for including this wonderful post!!!
It was very sad and touching!
See you tomorrow,
