I also wanted to tell all of you, that my sister Camila also won, in the same competition, but isted of saying a verse she danced scotish dancing as Vale P, Sol, Agus and other girls did. Vale, Sol and Agus didnt win enything, but we also have to be happy for them because they had the courage to go and dance infront of all! So congratulations to you to.
Coming back about my sister, I wanted to share with you that my sister won: a gold medal, a silver medal, and a silver cope! I also congratulate my sister, and again all of you that participate in the verse and dancing competition!

Dear ALL,
THANK YOU ALL for your lovely words. The truth is that reading your messages has been the greatest award I could have received and to be sincere I never even dared to dream with such a great bliss. Many of you asked what it felt like being on the stage and saying the poem but that is the last of all the steps. The real challenge comes in trying to feel what each verse intends to say and then find the way to convey the message together with that emotion, munch each line to drain the juice and then put it all back together again adding flesh to the bones once more. As for the nerves, yes they are there however those “butterflies in the stomach” as many call them are also part of the thrill.
Also, there were other participants who did a wonderful job and of which we should be proud. In verse Justina, Alina and Matias, in Scottish dancing Camila B and the Tory B and her sister. Who were the ones I missed? Axel S and his family, Lulu and her sister and the one I missed the most this year was my brother Andy who was in Mendoza.
As to what is really important? The tradition and heritage that has been passed from one generation to the next. The real magic of that “Verse Festival Stage” is imagining that many, many years ago, when she was my age, my mother was there, exactly on the same spot, quite probably experiencing the same feelings, nerves and excitement which we now share not because she explained them to me but because now we both share the same memory. This speaks of continuity, of keeping the wheel of life rolling and fulfilling the cycle of life. Actually the greatest moment was when we were both sitting on the white bench next to the wall by the fence reading the poem and she thanked me for that special moment in life when the torch was passed on and hopefully one day I may be the one sitting with my kids there sharing the love for poetry. Ok I just realize the number of times I have repeated the word SHARING therefore I suppose that it must be SHARING what is truly important for me, for us.
See you tomorrow,
Makena BC.

Macky congratulations you won i think for second time the gold medal, in 5th and in 6th.
You are very good at poems and at writing.
You enjoy having the cup in your hand 2 times?
The medal is all of gold or painted in gold Macky.
Do you have a good time having the cup in your hands?
Did you have a good time in there with the poems?
was it in Punta Chica or Olivos?

I really congratulate Maky for all her effort and for winning this verse competition! I knew she was going to win because when she reads in english she pronounces each word with such fleuency and happiness and like she were reading a poeam so I thought, if she reads loke that an excersice from school, how would she read a poem! And im very proud for her because it is the third time she wins! I hope she goes far with all this of poems and verses!

Dear All,

Once again I want to thank you for the nice comments received. As I said before your words are the nicest cups I could have received.
As for nerves ... well what one feels before being called during those never ending minutes you are sitting there waiting is not the disagreeable exam-type nerves but the nice exiting-type nerves however the moment one steps on the stage they vanish, and you go ahead and dive into what you went there for.
I suppose it is pretty much the same for those who play hockey or tennis and enter a tournament, quite probably they feel these dancing butterflies in the stomach sensation but when they go out on the field or the tennis-court and the ball rolls the only thing that matters is the game.

Nice September Break and "Feliz Dia del Estudiante".
