Making Connections....

Very soon we will be in contact with a group of students from New Jersey (USA) by leaving comments in the voicethread through which we will learn about their country/city.

Last but not least we will make connections by Skype with a group of students from New Zealand, Melville Intermediate School, Room 8 and we will learn about their country.

What do you think?
Have you ever thought of experiencing something similar?

Hi!!!
I can't believe it!!!
I thought that this about connecting with other schools around the world was only by the blog. We all ready comunicated each other by a blog and know by skype.
I think that it is a great idea to do this, we will know more from that city or country and we can make new friend ships. Now with the technology that we have we can talk we somebody that is in the other part of the world. I is a great invent. I use skype because I talk with my family that are not here in the country, it is a way to be connected hearing each others voice. If not we have mail that is not a mad idea, there you can send videos or images. If today it is like that I can't imagine in twenty years
I think that this will lead us to a future were we can be more close with the other part of the world.
What is vicethread??

This sounds like a great idea! I have a friend whom I met in Indoneasia who now lives in New Zeland, and it would be great to talk to some people in the same country.

Hello Mrs Ale !!
I think it is a great idea because both classes we learn a bit from each other. My mother told that there a lot of intresting things in New Zealand such as amazing landscapes our cultures over there, so I would really like to learn about there. I also expect they learn a lot about our country because there are a lot of cultural things to do here and also traditional thigs to do like: visit La Boca and plenty of museums and also visit Bariloche and el "Perito Moreno" or "Las Cataratas del Iguazu".
I have thought of this when Mrs Florence told us about the International Science we were having with United States. One time I thought of a kind of project like this one but it was different, we were going to teach about our school (St. Andrews) and were it came from and all it's cultures and history, with another school here in Argentina. Both of the schools could learn a bit of our schools history and culture.

Miss Ale:
I thing that is a wonderfull idea. I didn´t thought about it but when I read the post, it came a flash back to me and it made me remember about 3rd. That we sended mails each other. And belive me, because Still I have the letter she, the student of the other school send me, but I don´t know where. But I am very shure I have it. Coming back again to the post, I think that is a wonderfull idea to be connected with other countries, to be a kind of friends, to look what are like our companions of other countries. I am very proud of my school, because it give us oportunities that not eny school can give us. I am realy thankfull. And I know that what I am going to say is out of topic, but I have a book, that it is about what are you thankful about. And I fill very indintifie with. And that book makes me think about this oportunitie, this special things that not everyone has the oportunitie and that is one of the special things that happen when you go to such a good school. And when I say such a good school, I don´t want you to think that is because of the econnomy, because if not is because this oportunities, friends, teaching, learning, camps, giras, ALL. I would never ever ever truever (jaaja) would change St. Andrews.

Hi Miss Ale,
I can't believe that we wil have so many connections with people from two different corners of the world! What I always said was that I am very interested in this blog because we have a lot of communications with people from all over the world! What I like about this is that we can learn about different cultures in the world and open our minds to learning and sharing new things! I think that we will learn a lot this year, and not because we will learn the result of 2+2(It's an example, we know it), because we will learn to understand different cultures, and to make very different but great friends...
See you,

Axel G

Miss Ale,
I do not simply find this information of use for our knowledge. If we use our minds as we examine the content, we can see the world we live in. Revolution has passed on. Computers were in that process. Someone in the world might not have realized what he or she did when creating Skype. That person made a world connection, a world connection where we students can see the other end of the world through someone else’s eyes. Have we realized how human race has advanced? With achievements, and loses, maybe some quite threatening. However, some of our best results were made when sticking together. Two heads are better than one as people usually say, so do you imagine what millions of heads united could do? We can try to stop the loses from happening, if one human puts the guts into it, and the rest have the courage to follow, in order to prevent world wars, unemployment, deaths, destroyed environments, and a very long list I could continue writing. Intentions can save us. As it says in the song:
‘For All these Things’,

‘Every bee that brings the honey, Needs a sting to be complete, And we all must learn to taste the bitter with the sweet.
Keep, oh Lord, the fire burning
Through the night and through the day
For the man who is returning from so far away

Don't uproot what has been planted
So our bounty may increase
Let our dearest wish be granted:
Bring us peace, oh bring us peace.

For the sake of all these things, Lord,
Let your mercy be complete
Bless the sting and bless the honey
Bless the bitter and the sweet.

Save the houses that we live in
The small fences and the wall
From the sudden war-like thunder
May you save them all.

Guard what little I’ve been given
Guard the hill my child might climb
Let the fruit that’s yet to ripen
Not be plucked before its time.

As the wind makes rustling night sounds
And a star falls in its arc
All my dreams and my desires
Form crystal shapes out of the dark.

Guard for me, oh Lord, these treasures
All my friends keep safe and strong,
Guard the stillness, guard the weeping,
And above all, guard this song.

For the sake of all these things, Lord,
Let your mercy be complete
Bless the sting and bless the honey
Bless the bitter and the sweet.’

However, why can’t we start now, put the dare into it, so that we save the houses that we live in, we keep the fire burning, we save the mountain our child might climb, for the sake of all these things Lord, may You let us see what we left behind, and may we all bless the bitter and the sweet.

Hi Miss Ale,
I think it is a fantastic idea because we can connect with other people from all around the world ( in this case New Zealand ) and talk with them about our things and ask them how is their life and things of the kind. Sometimes I think of this, like it could be awesome to talk with all that people and that things.
Well, in fact I think this is going to be a marvellous idea and we will pass a fantastic time.

Hello Miss Ale,
I think it is a great idea! Because we can learn about people's different cultures, traditions and lives. I hope we can open our minds, and see the different things we have all around our world. It will be an interesting thing to go through!
I had a similar experience with my family from Brazil and Italy. We talk in messenger and skype,as we live far away. So it is fun to see them, and sometimes share our thoughts and experiences.
