I'm Glad she was There
The leaves rustle gently
as I tread softly
nobody can hear me
but the wind is listening intently
The place where I am
is not a place of darkness
but a place of rest
with no cruelty or harshness
Alas, you must have guessed,
I lie in a graveyard
I am dead, you must think,
but that idea I must discard.
Yes, I was a ghost,
a mere shadow of life
but now I rest in the graveyard
since I was pitied, and relieved of strife.
But now here I am,
in the garden of death
and I am glad she was there,
when I took my last breath.

Hi miss Ale I think Oscar Wild wrote it because it is about the Canteville ghost and it talks about the grave yard when he was on the garthen of death. Maybe Simon, the Canteville ghost wrote it. In words of Oscar Wild
the last comment was mine sorry
bye bye

Miss Ale,
I think Oscar Wilde made it,
describing Sr. Simon of the book if the canterville ghost. When he was in the garden of death with Virginia. Also his feelings.

Miss ALe: I think that Oscar Wilde wrote this poem. I think he was refering to a man who was walking jently and saw a lovely women whith whom he fell in love, and because of love he says he dies because sometimes when you see somebody and you fell in love with her or him that you can´t resist it and you die of love. I think that Oscar Wilde wrote this comment becuse maybe he was inventing a speciall part in The Canterville Ghost when Virginia enters the room the Canterville Ghist falls in love of her so much that he dies.

Hello Ale I think Oscar Wilde wrote it because it is talking of the Canterville Ghost. It was easy because it says in the garthen of death and also says "and there she was"reffering to Virginia.

Hello Miss Ale
I think Oscar Wilde wrote this poem. I am nearly sure he was talking about Sir Simon, the ghost. "The Canterville Ghost". I realised that in the last paragraph he also talks about Virginia because he says he was glad she was there when he took his last breath. I also know it is the canterville ghost because it says that once he was a ghost, but now he is not anymore. When he says a place of rest it means to the garden of death because he can lay peacefully there and he can rest. When he was a ghost he couldn´t sleep, but now that he has died he can. I like when it says that nobody can see him but the wind is listening intently. The garden of death as the poem says is not a place of darkness. It is a place of rest. I liked the poem very much.
See you soon,
Barbie M
I think that the poem was written by Oscar Wild because it talks about Sr Simon´s death, and Sr Simon is the ghost of the book called ¨the canterville ghost¨. It talks about when Sr Simon is burry and now and he is still there but dead, That now he doesent bother, he also sais that he was glad that Virginia vas at the moment of the death.

Hello miss Ale:
It was Oscar Wilde because it talked about the ghost that was a ghost but not anymore and also the last paragraph talks about Virginia and Also in a moment it talked about the garden of death and that was the part that I realized that it was talking about"THE CANTERVILLE GHOST", this ghost was refering to Sr. Simon. I loved the poem it has alot of metaphors that it gives a little touch to the poem. The part that I liked alot was in the first paragraph "the place of darkness isnot a place of darkness but a place of rest with no cruelty or harshness" Super ALe

Miss Ale for me the author is Oscar Wilde. In the last part it was ovious that was talking about the Canterville ghost because he mentioned that he was a ghost and alsaw when it mentions the garden of death. I think that the Canterville ghost was a rael good book and I really enjoit. Hope that you put more poems.

The author is Oscar Wilde, and he was refering to Virginia and the ghost: The poem is written as if the ghost was the one talking, and that he was gald Virginia was where he "died" (because he had already died in the body of Sir Simon) I like the poem, but it doesn´t rime too much.
(although poems don´t always have to rime)
See you in class.

Hi Ale
I think it was oscar wilde the one who wrote the poem pretending to be the Canterville Ghost. I found out it was Oscar Wild because of how he describes things, also because it talks about the garden of death and it describes it using similar words as the Canterville Ghost describes it to Virginia.
Thank you for the pacience you have! See you!

Miss Ale without doubting I can tell you that Oscar Wilde wrote this poem. I could realize this because it talks about The Canterville Ghost in the part when Sir Simon was in the Garden of Death and Virginia was praying for him to die and go to the (sky). Well Miss Ale..Bye Bye
